Kindalo ("we", "us") provides a management platform used by childcare centers, camps, and enrichment programs ("organizations") to manage enrollment, classrooms, attendance, pickups, and communication between staff and parents. This policy explains what information the Kindalo app and website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Who uses Kindalo
Kindalo accounts are created for adults only: parents/guardians and organization staff (teachers, managers, directors). The app is not directed at children and children do not hold accounts. Information about children is entered and controlled by their parent or guardian and by the organization that cares for them.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and role (parent, teacher, manager, or director), used to sign you in and show you the right information.
- Child profile information — provided by parents and staff: the child's name, date of birth, classroom and enrollment details, school and pickup schedule, allergy and medical notes, emergency contact names and phone numbers, and documents or photos uploaded by the organization or parent.
- Activity and attendance records — sign-in/sign-out times, pickup status updates, and activity feed posts created by staff.
- Messages — communication between parents and the organization's staff within the app.
We do not collect precise location data, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or contacts from your device.
How we use information
We use this information solely to operate the service: authenticating users, displaying children's information to the authorized staff of their organization and to their own parents, delivering messages and activity updates, and keeping attendance and pickup records. We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Who can see what
Access is scoped to your organization and role. Staff can see the children enrolled at their own organization. Parents can see only their own children. Directors and managers of an organization can additionally oversee staff messaging within that organization. No data is shared across organizations.
Where data is stored
Kindalo runs on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), operated by Google LLC, which processes data on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can read about Google's practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Data retention and deletion
Records are kept while your account or your organization's account remains active. Parents can request correction or deletion of their child's information through their organization, or by contacting us directly at the address below; we will delete the associated personal information unless the organization is legally required to retain it.
Children's privacy
The Kindalo app is intended for and used by adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Information about children is provided by their parent or guardian, or by the childcare organization with parental consent, and is used only to provide the care-management service described above.
Delete your Kindalo account
To request deletion of your Kindalo account and associated personal data:
- Send a deletion request to rishi.rkhan@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, including your name and role (parent, teacher, director, or manager).
- We will verify your identity and confirm the request with your childcare organization if required.
- Your account and personal data will be deleted within 30 days, except where information must be retained to meet legal, safety, or regulatory obligations (for example, records a licensed childcare organization is legally required to keep).
Note that some information about a child in your care may be retained by the childcare organization independently of your personal account, since it is part of the organization's own records.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify organizations through the app.
